Simon Osborne

Project Manager

I have worked for West Sussex County Council for a number of years enjoying extensive support for my professional development resulting in gaining promotion into my current role.

The role of project Manager is varied with no two days the same and I enjoy the interaction with a wide range of stakeholders. I get to work on a number of highways projects ranging from small scale junction improvements to town centre enhancement projects with a significant budget.

The role with West Sussex gives me the opportunity to see projects from conception through to completion and I get great job satisfaction from contributing to the successful delivery of projects that the majority of local people want and will improve the transport infrastructure in the county.

Michael Taylor

Principal Engineer Highways Structures

I joined West Sussex County Council having previously worked in the commercial sector and have been able to develop my career in line with a great work life balance.

In my current role I get to lead the repair and ongoing maintenance of Council owned highways structures within the county. The Highways Team is a small friendly team of professionals and gives the opportunity to make a real impact and enjoy a high level of personal responsibility. I particularly enjoy the level of responsibility I have and take a real pride in ensuring that work completed is of the highest possible standard and those high standards are achieved within the budget for which I am responsible.
